Terms and Conditions

We have produced a set of guidelines to help us improve the level of service to all our students at Farnham Music and Drama. Please read these guidelines carefully to avoid any future misunderstandings.

FEES

After the initial trial lesson, payment must be made by BACS, cheque or standing order.  Payments are based on a term of  between 10 and 12 weeks depending on the lenght of the term. Failure to pay will automatically cancel any further tuition at the centre. It is our policy to take legal action to retrieve fees in arrears. Any wilful evasion of payment will be subject to legal proceedings and may incur legal fees.

WITHDRAWAL

A pupil can withdraw from lessons by giving notice by the fifth or sixth week of the current session.  Termination of the lessons will then begin at the beginning of the next session. Written notice must be given, verbal notification CANNOT be accepted.

CANCELLATION

The centre cannot credit lessons cancelled by pupils: this applies to group and individual lessons. Occasionally, teachers may have to cancel a lesson. In this instance, a full refund will be given. Occasionally lessons maybe covered by another teacher. This does not affect the quality or direction of lessons. Occasionally a teacher may need to reschedule a lesson to a mutually convenient time.

BEHAVIOUR

Unacceptable and disruptive behaviour will be subject to a referral process and if problems persist, the student may be asked to leave.

RECRUITMENT

All applications for lessons are responded to, and every effort is made to provide immediate tuition. However, where this may not be possible, names are added to our waiting list until a class or space becomes available. All pupils are invited to attend a free taster lesson before enrolling for any of the group lessons.

RESPONSIBILITY

Farnham Music and Drama acknowledges its responsibility for the supervision of pupils during lessons and that the parent is responsible at all other times.
In classes where the parent or carer is also present, it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of their child.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Parents and pupils are subject to all terms and conditions that have been laid down by Farnham Music and Drama. Farnham Music and Drama reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions where appropriate.

The Personal Data we hold will be "processed" (as such terms are defined in the Data Protection Act 1998) by Farnham Music and Drama for the purposes of administration, research, and the provision of teaching services.  Farnham Music and Drama will not disclose this information to third parties for marketing purposes.
By signing our enrolment form you are deemed to consent to the use of such Personal Information for the above purposes. From time to time Farnham Music and Drama may publish photographs of students taken during workshops for purposes of advertising or promotion of the school. Photographs may also appear in the press to celebrate achievement or to accompany an article relating to school events. It is the parent's responsibility to inform Farnham Music and Drama if they do not want any photographs of their child published.

Farnham Music and Drama’s Privacy Policy
 
This summary of our policy is intended to advise you what personal data the Farnham Music and Drama (FMD) collects and processes.  The policy also includes and apply R&R Music and Drama and Farnham Instrumental Limited.
 
PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
 
We collect various information from, of which include the following:
 
Full name and surname and the names of any children and their date of births.
Your email address, postal address and telephone and/or mobile numbers 
FMD does not collect or hold data from any other source.
 
THIRD PARTIES
 
FMD will never share your data with any third party under any circumstances unless required to by law or with your explicit consent.  FMD does use GDPR compliant third-party services to collect information from you such as when you complete our enrolment, sign-up or an enquiry form and/or information about concerts or future important dates in a calendar or to send a text to let you know if a teacher might be late or if they are delayed.  These service providers do not hold your information and we will only use any service provider when we are satisfied that they are fully compliant and your and our data are safe.
 
HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
 
We will use your personal data in the following ways:
 
To contact you about your account, send you invoices and/or reminders and any other matter related to your account.
To send information or updates about your lessons or the groups you attend here.  This can include instances such a teacher being late or a cancelled class etc.
To inform you about event or concerts related to the lessons or groups you attend.
We provide your contact details to our teachers to ensure they contact you about your or your child lesson, groups or class.
All information we hold are encrypted and protected.
When we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation such as for tax and any other HMRC related purposes and the minimum required times as stipulated by the law.
We do not store any personal data outside the UK.
 
DELETION OF PERSONAL DATA
 
You can easily request to delete your details providing it is outside the legal or obligatory periods as required by the HMRC, Companies House or any other regulatory body. If you cease having lessons or attending a group/s, we will make your account inactive providing any payments are up to date and we will not contact you thereafter unless you ask us to continue to do so.
 
YOUR RIGHTS
 
You have rights under UK data protection laws in relation to your personal data. You have the right to:
Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”)
You may ask to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about your
Request correction of personal data. You may have any incomplete or inaccurate data that we hold about you corrected, although we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide.
 
DATA SECURITY BREACHES AND COMPLAINTS
 
You should contact us in the event that you become aware of a data security breach or if wish to make a complaint regarding the processing of personal data.  If we suspect a data breach that may or may not affect you, we will update you as soon as we are aware.
