Music Technology

We offer a music technology course for those who wish to learn more about the technology involved in composing music.

We will teach music production using Apple's Logic Pro X which will suit those students doing A levels, GCSE or BTEC Music. 

Composing using technology in the form of other notation packages such as Sibelius or Cubase will also be on offer as well as using a mobile phone or tablet to compose.

Lessons will be either on a one to one basis or group tuition. 

Music Production with Logic Pro X

An intensive and exciting course exploring the main features of Apple’s Logic Pro X including Apple Loops, Audio Recording and MIDI Sequencing. Students will learn how to create a song and produce a final mix for sharing online with friends and family. The course will cover audio fundamentals such basic acoustics, EQ, dynamic processing, FX processing and microphones. It also prepares students for the Apple Pro Certification exam.

Course will suit A level Music and Music Technology, BTEC Music, GCSE Music students or anyone interested in Music technology

Requirements: MacBook running Logic Pro X 

Composing using Technology

The programme is tailored for GCSE and A level Music students looking to improve their composition skills using a notation package (Sibelius, Finale) or music production software (Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools). The sessions will be tailored to students’ requirements and exam boards. 

Requirements: Basic Music Theory Knowledge and laptop running music production software a notation package. 

Making Music with your Mobile Device

Use your iPhone or iPad to compose and perform music. Have Jam Sessions in a group or create your own beats using just your mobile device.

Requirements: iPhone or iPad with Garage Band App
